1. What is the Qur’an?

The Quran is the literal, final revelation from God that has shaped a vast global civilization and has been memorized and practiced by billions for over a millennium

It is regarded not merely as a book of religious guidance and moral instruction, but as the direct Word of Allah, revealed to humanity through the Angel Jibrīl (Gabriel) and conveyed to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The Qur’an was revealed by God, not authored by Muhammad ﷺ; the Prophet’s role was to receive, faithfully convey, and communicate its message to humanity.

In simple words, the Qur’an is a “book of guidance” for all aspects of human life. It functions as a teacher, guide, and healer, offering a mercy-centric view of God. The text is viewed as a practical guide capable of healing hidden wounds and transforming individuals, where the Quran itself never fails to change those who engage with it.

Quran came to give us LIFE

• The Qur’an’s revelation is not merely a single historical event. In fact, the very word Allah chose for revelation, wahy, implies that the Qur’an continuously reveals itself. Even after its arrival over 1,400 years ago, the layers between its words and wonders continue being disclosed, unveiled, revealed to those most deserving.

• Realizing this is the first step to experiencing—not just knowing—the Qur’an’s priceless truths, to seeing with its divine light, to awakening oneself to the realities of faith, to standing under the Qur’anic waterfalls as they soothe your soul with knowledge of the Divine.

• What is the admission fee for such an experience? It is to bear witness to the Truth that the Qur’an is the word of the Lord of the Universe, the Eternally Living who never dies and that it was revealed to the last Prophet Muhammed peace be upon him. And how could the speech of the Eternally Living ever deteriorate or die? Rather, what may sometimes deteriorate or die is our faith and friendship with His book. As for the Revelation, it can never die, for it is what came to give us life.

It teaches people:

Who God is and why He should be worshipped.

Why human beings were created and what their purpose is.

How to live a good and meaningful life.

How to be honest, just, merciful, and compassionate.

How to treat parents, family, neighbours, the poor, and other people.

What is right and wrong.

What happens after death and why human actions matter.

About earlier prophets such as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (peace be upon them).

The revelation began around 610 CE in Makkah and continued to its finality for approximately 23 years, until shortly before the Prophet's death in 632 CE.

2. What does the word “Qur’an” mean?

The Arabic word القرآن (al-Qur’ān) is related to the meaning “recitation” or “that which is recited most.”

The Qur’an was revealed in Arabic, and Muslims recite it regularly in their daily prayers.

3. Is the Qur’an only a book for Muslims?

Its message is for all humanity, not only Muslims. The Qur’an describes itself as guidance for mankind:

هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ “Guidance for mankind.” — Qur’an 2:185

Its central message can be summarized simply:

Believe in the One Creator and worship Him alone. Live a righteous life, perform good deeds, abstain from what He has forbidden, and prepare for the Hereafter.
