Guidance through human lives
A prophet is a human being chosen by God to communicate revelation. In Islamic teaching, prophets show how guidance can be lived amid family duties, hardship and public responsibility. Their humanity makes their example relevant to other people. They are honoured, but worship belongs to God alone.
Islam recognises Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus (peace be upon them), among others. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is understood as the final prophet. The Qur'an also says that messengers were sent to different peoples.
One message and different settings
The Qur'an connects the prophets through a central call to worship God. This is what the display means by continuity of faith. It does not mean that every prophet taught identical detailed rules or that all present-day religions make the same claims.
The display describes Abraham as the ‘father of monotheism’. This is a familiar honorific, but within Islam earlier prophets already taught belief in one God. ‘An honoured prophet who called people to worship one God’ is clearer. Dates for very early prophetic figures are not securely established by the Qur'an and should not look like a proven archaeological timeline.
The central message is that God’s guidance reaches people through human messengers who teach it and demonstrate it in everyday life.
Qur’anic verses
Qur'an 18 : 110
Say: I am a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is one God. Whoever hopes to meet their Lord should do what is right and associate no one in worship with their Lord.

Qur'an 16 : 36
We sent a messenger to every community, saying: Worship God and avoid false objects of worship. Among them were those God guided and those for whom going astray became established. Travel through the earth and see what became of those who denied the truth.

Qur'an 33 : 40
Muhammad is not the father of any of your men. He is God's messenger and the Seal of the Prophets. God knows everything.
Context: “Seal of the Prophets” is understood in mainstream Islam as the final prophet. The opening refers to the specific setting of lineage and adoption; it does not deny that he had children.

Qur'an 3 : 19
The religion with God is Islam, submission to Him. Those who received the Scripture differed only after knowledge came to them, because of rivalry among themselves. Whoever rejects God's revelations should know that God is swift in calling to account.
